Today I had the pleasure of performing on the lawn at the prestigious Whitley Hall Hotel in Sheffield accompanied by some great musicians and delightful afternoon tea.
I had around 190 guests to entertain for 2 hours in the beautiful gardens of the hotel. It can be quite tricky for a magician (no pun intended) to perform in a loud environment which is why this event worked particularly well. The background music of the musicians along with the chinking of the champagne flutes was a great combination.
A truly picturesque scene with everyone on their picnic blankets and a glass of fizz in their hands I knew from the off that this event was going to be amazing. This was the first festival event that I have performed at and would love to do this or a similar event again! From the first effect to the last, everyone was great from the reactions that I received this afternoon! I would like to give a special shout out to the guys by the tea and coffee station in the alcove! If you’re reading this then you know who you are!
Walking round the many tables and blankets to perform for guests sat on the lawn is something that I have never had the opportunity to do and apart from my one wet knee from kneeling on the grass too much, it certainly would be something I would do again! I received nothing but praise from all of the guests attending the event and with it being such a great venue I would certainly perform there again!
A truly wonderful afternoon and I would recommend to anyone to go to the event next year. You never know, I may even see you there!
Thanks again to everyone that took part and participated in this traditional Yorkshire experience in this traditional Yorkshire hotel!
